The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region convened a sector forum titled “La nautica al centro della crescita del Friuli Venezia Giulia” (“The maritime industry at the heart of growth in Friuli Venezia Giulia”).

The forum was organized by The European House – Ambrosetti in collaboration with the Municipality of Monfalcone, with financial support from the Regional Administration, BCC Venezia Giulia, Marina Lepanto, Confartigianato Gorizia e Trieste, and OceanMarine. Attendance was restricted to industry professionals.

Regional Councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism Sergio Emidio Bini stated that Friuli Venezia Giulia is the first Italian region to adopt a consolidated legislative text (Testo Unico) on maritime affairs—an initiative designed to provide targeted regulatory tools for a sector that previously lacked specific legal protections at the regional level.

Bini confirmed that new 2026 grant calls (bandi), including non-repayable contributions for small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector, will be published before the end of summer. He also announced that, on Monday, April 13, an official communication will be submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure to initiate a technical discussion on the removal of abandoned vessels, noting that current national legislation does not allow for rapid intervention. He cited simplified French regulatory models as a potential reference point.

TEHA presented a dedicated research study titled “La nautica italiana nel contesto della valorizzazione della Risorsa Mare.” The proceedings were moderated by Ferruccio de Bortoli, President of the Fondazione Corriere della Sera, and featured contributions from Regional President Massimiliano Fedriga, MEP Anna Maria Cisint, Monfalcone Mayor Luca Fasan, and University of Trieste Vice-Rector Guido Bortoluzzi, among others.
