Residents and visitors in Muggia gathered on Monday afternoon for a culinary spectacle as part of the town’s annual Carnival celebration: the preparation of a giant omelet in Piazza Marconi.

Organizers placed a large pan in the square and combined 35 kilograms of sausage with more than 2,000 eggs, stirring the mixture until fully cooked. The event was coordinated by the Associazione delle Compagnie del Carnevale in collaboration with the local gastronomy “Il Cuoco” and supported by Confartigianato Trieste, along with other partners. The omelette was then shared with the public.

The 72nd edition of the Muggia Carnival continues this Tuesday with a full program of events. At 4:30 p.m., the streets of Via D’Annunzio, Via Roma, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Battisti, Via Dante, and Piazza Marconi will host “Risfiliamo in Allegria,” a parade of masked participants from Sunday’s procession, this year without floats. At 5 p.m., awards will be presented in Piazza Marconi to individuals and groups recognized for their costumes and participation, along with the delivery of Carnival trophies. Evening celebrations will include live music in Piazza Marconi and Piazza della Repubblica starting at 7 p.m.
