The Barcolana Grado SUP Experience returns for its third edition on Saturday, October 4, with a larger format and new features aimed at both amateur enthusiasts and competitive athletes. Set in the scenic lagoon of Grado, the event will mark the closing of the summer season in the seaside town, while also serving as a key lead-up to the internationally renowned Barcolana regatta, which takes place in Trieste from October 1 to 12.

This year’s edition introduces a second course designed specifically for professional and competitive stand-up paddleboarders (SUP), reflecting the sport’s growing popularity across Italy. The traditional route for amateur participants remains unchanged, continuing to offer an accessible and scenic experience for those new to the discipline or seeking a more relaxed outing.

Organized by the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano, the SUP Experience is part of a broader program of events that celebrate maritime culture and outdoor sports in the region. The initiative is also intended to highlight the natural beauty of the Grado lagoon and to promote sustainable, active tourism.

Registration for the event is open through October 3, 2025, via the official Barcolana website at barcolana.it.
