Trieste’s CioccolatiAmo artisan chocolate fair opened Thursday in the recently renovated Piazza Sant’Antonio Nuovo and will run through Sunday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.

The event brings together chocolate makers from across Italy, offering pralines, handmade chocolate bars, truffles and other specialties, including vegan and gluten-free options.

Perugia-based master chocolatier Fausto Ercolani will lead demonstrations explaining the five stages of chocolate production, from roasting cocoa beans to molding the finished product. The program also includes educational activities for schoolchildren.

Organized by Flash Srl in partnership with the Municipality of Trieste, the fair was inaugurated by Deputy Mayor Serena Tonel.
