The winter ski season in Friuli Venezia Giulia has come to an end on a positive note, with all six mountain resorts closing on Easter Monday.

At Sella Nevea, the last resort to shut its lifts, the season recorded significant growth. Between December 13, 2025, and April 6, 2026, the resort welcomed 68,504 skiers, a 26.8 percent increase compared with the previous year. Lift usage rose even more sharply, reaching 698,213 passages, up 38.6 percent.

The Easter holiday weekend provided the final opportunity to ski, attracting thousands of visitors eager to take advantage of clear skies and late-season snow. Nearly 5,000 skiers visited Sella Nevea between April 3 and April 6 alone.

Regionwide, the season — which began on December 6 — closed with 976,259 first entries, marking a 7.7 percent increase year over year. Total lift passages reached 10,430,674, up 6.4 percent.

Most of the region’s ski areas, including Forni di Sopra, Piancavallo, Ravascletto-Zoncolan, Sappada-Forni Avoltri and Tarvisio, had already closed on March 22, leaving Sella Nevea as the final slopes open through Easter Monday.

The results cap a season of strong attendance and favorable conditions, reinforcing the region’s position as an increasingly popular winter sports destination.
