It’s Saturday night in Trieste, and Barcolana fever has swept through the city. Cafés spill onto cobbled piazzas, boats glitter under the harbor lights, and the air hums with anticipation for Sunday’s legendary regatta. Locals and visitors alike are soaking in the festive spirit — some sipping Aperol spritz along the Rive, others dancing to live music in Piazza Unità. “It’s the best night of the year,” one sailor tells us, grinning beneath fluttering yacht flags. Whether on land or at sea, everyone in Trieste seems united by the same wind — the Barcolana breeze of celebration.
