After a long hiatus, the flea market in Aurisina is making a steady return. On Saturday, June 21, the town’s recently inaugurated Piazza San Rocco will once again host the “Mercatino delle Pulci,” a monthly flea market curated by the cultural association Cose di Vecchie Case and sponsored by the Municipality of Duino-Aurisina.

Following the success of its first two editions earlier this year, the market is now set to become a regular fixture, taking place on the third Saturday of each month through December 20. Entry is free.

The market offers a carefully selected showcase of antiques, vintage goods, artisanal crafts, and handmade collectibles. Exhibitors from across the Friuli Venezia Giulia region are expected to participate, offering everything from small furniture pieces to retro memorabilia and DIY creations.

Starting at 8 a.m., visitors will be able to browse the diverse array of curiosities—objects often treasured by collectors and nostalgia seekers alike. Organizers say the event is designed to appeal not only to seasoned enthusiasts but also to those simply curious about objects with a past.

The setting—Piazza San Rocco—adds another layer of charm. Considered one of the most picturesque squares on the Carso plateau, the space is surrounded by cafés and restaurants, making it a destination not only for shopping but also for discovering the cultural and architectural heart of Aurisina.

With its monthly rhythm now restored, the market marks the revival of a tradition that many locals say had been missed for years.
