Friuli Venezia Giulia has allocated an additional €31 million for businesses and tourism in 2026, bringing the region’s total funding for the two sectors to €400 million, according to a budget adjustment approved by the regional council.

The autumn measure, approved by a majority, also incorporates €2.5 million in budget savings and shifts €8 million earmarked for the household appliance industry to 2027.

The additional funding is intended to support business investment, expand existing grant programs and finance tourism infrastructure, with an emphasis on manufacturing, small businesses and the service sector.

Sergio Emidio Bini, the regional councilor for productive activities and tourism, presented the measures as part of the region’s broader industrial development strategy.

The largest business allocation is an additional €10 million for the Friuli Venezia Giulia Investment Fund, known as FRIE, bringing its 2026 funding to €73 million. The fund has approved more than €232 million in loans during the first nine months of the year, reflecting demand for subsidized financing.

The region will also provide €2 million for business solar installations, bringing that program’s total to €12.5 million, and an additional €1 million for grants to young entrepreneurs. Funding for the latter program will exceed €6 million.

Small and medium-sized businesses in the service sector will receive an additional €4 million, along with about €840,000 in budget savings, bringing the program’s total to more than €8.8 million.

Tourism will receive €10 million for investments managed by PromoTurismoFVG, the regional tourism agency. Projects include improvements to mountain resorts, snowmaking systems, ski-lift infrastructure and safety measures, as well as renovations to tourism facilities and maintenance work at the Porto Vecchio marina in Lignano and the thermal facilities in Grado and Arta Terme.

An additional €1.5 million will support autumn and winter tourism promotion. The budget also adds €4 million to grant programs for artisan businesses, bringing their total funding to €15 million.

The €8 million previously allocated to the household appliance industry will instead be committed in 2027, ahead of a grant program expected to open around the end of this year. The funding is intended to support the sector amid ongoing difficulties involving Electrolux, a major manufacturer in the region.

The regional government said the measures were designed to strengthen business competitiveness, encourage investment and support tourism development.
