Udine’s historic center has once again been transformed into an open-air celebration of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s culinary and cultural heritage as Friuli Doc returns for its 32nd edition, running from Sept. 10 to 13.

One of the region’s largest annual festivals, the four-day event stretches across more than 33,000 square meters—nearly five times the surface of Udine’s Bluenergy Stadium—and fills 30 streets and piazzas with more than 100 food and artisan stands.

Visitors can sample over 70 traditional dishes, regional wines and specialty products while attending a program of 40 concerts, performances and entertainment events. This year’s musical lineup includes Italian artists Francesco Renga, Fabio Rovazzi and Dargen D’Amico, alongside performances by roughly 150 artists throughout the city.

The festival also highlights Friuli Venezia Giulia’s agricultural identity through a dedicated market featuring 15 producers certified under the regional Io Sono FVG quality label, showcasing local food and wine excellence.

Organizers expect the event to draw thousands of visitors from across the region and neighboring areas. To accommodate increased travel, 27 additional trains will operate on Sept. 11–13, strengthening connections between Udine and Trieste, Gorizia, Sacile, Pordenone, Gemona and Carnia. The expanded rail service brings the weekend’s total capacity to 126,000 seats, offering a sustainable alternative for festivalgoers.

Now in its fourth decade, Friuli Doc has evolved from a local food fair into a regional showcase that blends gastronomy, music, culture and tourism, making it one of the signature events on Friuli Venezia Giulia’s cultural calendar.
