As summer approaches, Trieste’s Civic Botanical Garden will invite visitors to slow down and engage with nature through a sensory experience centered on flowers, creativity and local traditions.

On June 13, the garden will host Flower Lab – Energy and Creativity from Flowers, a two-hour program combining a guided botanical walk with a practical floral workshop. The initiative is part of the city’s Spring in the Museums series and has been organized in collaboration with Jagoda Flowerfarm, a Karst-based flower farm known for cultivating seasonal and wild flowers using sustainable methods.

The morning will begin at 10 a.m. with a guided stroll through the pathways and flower beds of the Civic Botanical Garden, located on Via Carlo De Marchesetti. Participants will explore the garden’s botanical collections and seasonal blooms while learning about the diversity of plant life that thrives in the area.

The experience will then shift from observation to creation. Guided by experts from Jagoda Flowerfarm, participants will take part in a hands-on workshop inspired by the approaching summer solstice. Using a selection of cultivated and wild flowers and herbs, they will craft a traditional St. John’s wreath, a floral decoration associated with midsummer celebrations across many parts of Europe.

The workshop is designed as an opportunity to reconnect with the natural environment through color, fragrance and texture, while exploring the relationship between creativity and the changing seasons.

The event will take place at the Civic Botanical Garden in Trieste and will last approximately two hours. Participation costs €50 per person.

In the event of bad weather, organizers plan to reschedule the activity for June 14, with confirmation to be communicated directly to registered participants.

Reservations can be made through CoopCulture, which is coordinating the event in partnership with the city’s civic museums. Further information is available by telephone at +39 040 9892032 or by email at museicivici.trieste@coopculture.it.
