A long holiday weekend brought an influx of visitors to the coastal areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia, where mild weather and clear skies made for popular seaside conditions.
In Sistiana, restaurants and beaches were busy throughout the weekend, with visitors arriving from across Italy and abroad. Among them was a young woman from the United Kingdom, currently based in Vienna, who said she had come to the region for a short break focused on food and relaxation.
“I just wanted a weekend away with good food and the sea,” she said while walking along the bay.
The crowd reflected a broad mix of origins, with people traveling from cities such as Caserta and Treviso, alongside international visitors. Many spent the sunny afternoons along the coastline, while some took advantage of the unusually warm weather for early-season swimming, dipping into the Adriatic Sea for the first time this year.
Local restaurants reported steady turnout as visitors filled outdoor tables, taking in the views and the late-spring sun. The atmosphere along the coast remained relaxed, shaped by day-trippers and weekend travelers making the most of the extended break.
