Grado Impianti Turistici, the company that manages much of the seaside town’s tourism infrastructure, has presented a new industrial plan running from 2026 to 2041, outlining a strategy to expand services, modernize facilities, and position Grado as a year-round destination. The company expects revenue to reach €13 million by 2028.
The plan is built around four priorities: the extension of public concessions through 2041 to support long-term investment; closer integration between beach facilities, wellness services, and hospitality; energy efficiency, including the use of geothermal systems; and increased investment in personnel.
Grado Impianti Turistici reported revenue of €10.5 million in 2025, a 31.5 percent increase compared with 2022. The expansion strategy includes the creation of 45 new jobs, the enlargement of the beach area, and continued development of the Terme Marine spa complex.
Planned investments for the near term include the renovation of facilities at the water park, the introduction of new digital services, and upgrades to sports and recreational areas. Additional development is planned for family-oriented beach zones and for spaces designed to host events aimed at younger visitors.
A central element of the plan is the Terme Marine complex, which was reopened in late 2025 following a major renovation funded by the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The €16 million project modernized the historic spa facilities and introduced new health and wellness services. Further expansion is planned, with the goal of attracting international visitors and extending tourism beyond the summer season.
Regional officials described tourism as a key economic driver for the area, emphasizing cooperation between public institutions and private investors as essential to sustaining growth. The long-term strategy reflects a broader shift toward higher-quality tourism, focusing not only on visitor numbers but also on services, spending capacity, and year-round appeal.
