On Thursday, August 21 at 7 p.m., Trieste’s San Giusto Castle will open its gates for a guided evening walk along its ancient walls and bastions, part of the cultural program L’ora di storia (“The Hour of History”).

Led by a museum guide, visitors will be taken through the fortress’s history and its role in the city’s past, while enjoying sweeping 360-degree views of Trieste from the ramparts. The tour, which lasts about an hour, is free of charge and open to the public, though space is limited and advance reservations are not available.

Following the visit, guests will be able to linger on the castle’s Bastione Rotondo, where the bar’s evening service will remain open until midnight. Drinks will be served against the backdrop of one of Trieste’s most striking panoramas, offering an atmospheric close to the evening.

The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Trieste, the Museum of San Giusto Castle, and Midnight – Bar Bastione, as part of the summer program of extended evening openings at the castle’s panoramic bar.
