A day of family-friendly sport and nostalgic music awaits residents of Trieste on Saturday, June 21, as the “Giordano Cottur” Gymkhana returns to the city’s waterfront. The event, which begins at 4:30 p.m. at Magazzino 27 in the Porto Vecchio-Porto Vivo district, is open to children and teens aged 5 to 16. Registration will be available on-site from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with all participants receiving a commemorative medal and a small gift.

The event follows the women’s race of the 2025 Italian Junior Road Cycling Championships, held earlier this week, and aims to encourage young people to engage with cycling in a playful and inclusive setting. Named after legendary Triestine cyclist Giordano Cottur, the gymkhana will take place against the backdrop of the city’s historic port area, now undergoing major redevelopment.

Following the races, the evening will feature a themed music event titled La Sera del Vinile ‘70/’80/’90, curated by longtime local DJs Micky and Sandro B. Special guest Mauro Manni, a well-known showman and entertainer, will join the lineup. The celebration, centered around the Magazzino 27 refreshment area managed by Akademia, promises an atmosphere inspired by the golden eras of vinyl, with classic tracks from the 1970s through the 1990s.

Organizers hope the combination of sports and music will draw families and cycling enthusiasts alike to the evolving Porto Vivo area, further cementing its role as a cultural and recreational hub in the city.
