The fourth edition of “CrafTs,” a local creative handicraft fair, was unveiled today in the Sala Giunta, signaling its return to Piazza Ponterosso from Thursday, May 30, to Sunday, June 2. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
At the press conference, representatives from the Municipality of Trieste were joined by Patrizia Verde, the general director of Confcommercio Trieste, and Susanna Coronica, the coordinator of the entrepreneurs participating in the “CrafTs” initiative.
The Municipality of Trieste has identified creative handicraft as a burgeoning sector within the city’s economy. The local government, in partnership with Confcommercio, supports this initiative with the aim of bolstering entrepreneurial activities and invigorating the city with diverse events throughout the year. These efforts, spanning from the Christmas season to springtime, are also intended to enhance tourism and regional promotion.
The fair will feature approximately twenty artisans, all hailing from Trieste. They will showcase an array of unique items, including home decor, design pieces, sustainable clothing, medicinal herbs, natural cosmetics, liqueurs, jewelry, toys, and more.
“CrafTs” will provide more than just a marketplace; it offers an opportunity for visitors to purchase distinctive items and engage with the artisans personally. A bilingual brochure, available in Italian and English, will offer detailed information about the businesses and the locations of their workshops and studios, facilitating ongoing access to their products beyond the fair itself.
The Municipality’s endorsement of this event underscores a commitment to fostering local craft skills, contributing to the cultural and economic vibrancy of Trieste.
