In Trieste, Italy, the Navigando program, initiated by the mareFVG cluster, is reaching its apex with a final event aimed at engaging students in maritime themes and professions.
From May 14th to 17th, over 400 students, aged 11 to 18, will participate in a competition hosted at the CNR INM (National Research Council – Institute of Marine Engineering). The competition will feature model ships, crafted by students at their respective schools, vying for recognition based on criteria such as stability and hydrodynamic efficiency.
Researchers from the CNR Institute of Marine Engineering will evaluate the models, assessing their performance and design. The event seeks to provide a platform for students to showcase their skills and knowledge gained through the Navigando program.
Throughout the academic year 2023/2024, Navigando has engaged approximately 1070 students from various educational institutions in the Trieste region. The program aims to expose students to maritime professions through educational activities, interactive experiences, and conferences.
Navigando is part of MAREinFVG, a larger sea festival that celebrates maritime culture and industry in the region. Supported by stakeholders including the Maritime Technology Cluster FVG and local authorities, MAREinFVG aims to highlight the significance of the maritime sector in the regional economy.
As Navigando concludes its activities, it underscores the importance of programs that provide students with practical exposure to potential career paths, contributing to their overall educational experience.
