«Raising citizens’ awareness of the importance of participating in vaccination campaigns is essential for the health of the individual, to avoid complications related to Covid or the flu virus», said president Fedriga at the press conference this morning.

Furthermore “it is a protection of the health system for all citizens”, because with vaccination we avoid putting the health system “under stress” with possible hospitalizations. «We are therefore faced with individual protection and collective responsibility».

This was stated by the president of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, presenting the anti-flu and anti-Covid vaccination campaign today – Tuesday 10 October – in Trieste, together with the regional health councilor, Riccardo Riccardi.

«The appeal I make – Fedriga added – is to follow the scientific evidence and the professionals who work in the sector. However, let’s not follow the gurus of the web who risk doing enormous harm to individuals and communities.”

The anti-Covid vaccination is recommended for all people over 60, vulnerable subjects, healthcare workers, residents in long-term care facilities, pregnant women and caregivers.

The flu vaccine is recommended for the same categories and also for children between 6 months and six years. Vaccinations can be carried out, as has been explained, in the vaccination centers of the departments, in the health districts, by the general practitioner or pediatricians and in affiliated pharmacies. Reservations are already active.
