The City of Trieste has unveiled the fourth edition of Insieme (“Together”), an inclusion initiative aimed at highlighting the needs and contributions of vulnerable residents while strengthening collaboration among public institutions, social service organizations and community groups.

Presented by Massimo Tognolli, the city’s councillor for social policies, the program has evolved from a single annual event into a yearlong series of six initiatives running from June 2026 through March 2027.

Launched in 2023, Insieme seeks to promote social inclusion by bringing together local associations, institutions and residents through cultural events, public discussions and educational programs. Organizers say the 2026-27 edition will involve 30 associations and more than 300 participants.

The program opens on June 24 with the General Assembly of Trieste’s Social Services, focusing on active aging and intergenerational cooperation. The event, hosted at MIB Trieste School of Management, will feature contributions from local academic, religious and public institutions.

In September, a roundtable discussion titled Giving Voice to Associations will place representatives of the nonprofit sector at the center of a public conversation on social challenges and community welfare.

A long-running highlight of the initiative, the Inclusive Performance, will return to Teatro Rossetti in November, featuring performances by organizations working in the social sector. Later that month, a new addition to the program will bring an art exhibition to Magazzino 26, showcasing works created through collaborations with local associations.

The initiative will continue into 2027 with Stories of Foster Care at the Tartini Conservatory in January, followed by a concluding event in March at the Generali Convention Center examining the city’s social services, achievements and future priorities.

The project is supported by local businesses, educational institutions and service organizations, reflecting what city officials describe as a broad community effort to strengthen inclusion and social participation across Trieste.
