Fiamme Gialle was the first boat to cross the finish line in Friday’s Barcolana Maxi – Trofeo Portopiccolo, followed by Safilens, as the Gulf of Trieste hosted a major race ahead of Sunday’s 58th Barcolana regatta.
The competition brought maxi yachts to the waters off Trieste as crews prepared for the main event, scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The 13-nautical-mile race will start between Barcola and Miramare, drawing thousands of sailors to one of the world’s largest sailing gatherings.
Friday’s maxi race is part of the program leading up to the annual regatta, which brings international crews, sailing enthusiasts and visitors to the city.
