An Atlantic weather front is moving across the Friuli Venezia Giulia region this weekend, bringing heavy rainfall overnight and into the morning hours, particularly over the Julian Prealps, with more moderate precipitation elsewhere, according to an update from the Regional Operations Center.

Snow fell in mountainous areas starting at about 400 meters (roughly 1,300 feet), with accumulations of between 5 and 10 centimeters reported. Authorities said that light, residual precipitation was expected across the region in the early afternoon. Snow levels were forecast to rise to around 700 meters in the Alps and 1,000 meters in the Prealps.

Since the weather alert was issued, no reports of disruptions or emergencies have been received by the Regional Operations Center or the emergency number service, officials said.
