In light but steady winds, ARCA Sgr of the Fast and Furio Sailing Team claimed victory on Sunday in the 57th edition of the Barcolana, the world’s largest sailing regatta, presented by Generali.

The Trieste-based crew crossed the finish line first on an upwind leg at a speed of 12 knots, completing the course in 1 hour, 43 minutes and 42 seconds. Their performance capped a challenging race that tested both strategy and precision in fickle autumn breezes.

This year’s Barcolana drew 1,865 boats to the starting line and more than 15,000 people to sea, transforming the Gulf of Trieste into a vast spectacle of sails and color. The event, which began in 1969, has grown into a signature celebration of the city’s maritime spirit, bringing together professional sailors and amateurs alike in a festive competition.
