Several hundred people gathered across Friuli Venezia Giulia on Friday in a series of demonstrations organized by Italy’s largest trade union, the CGIL, as part of a national day of protest calling for an end to the war in Gaza.
Rallies took place in Monfalcone, Pordenone, Udine, and Trieste, where police estimated about 500 people assembled in Piazza Venezia carrying Palestinian and peace flags. The events, organized with the support of local political groups and associations, drew broad participation despite being announced on short notice.
