The 2025 edition of Bioest, the annual fair dedicated to organic and natural products, is set to open on Saturday, June 7, in Trieste’s San Giovanni Park. Now in its 32nd year, the event will run through Sunday, June 8, and will feature nearly 150 booths. Admission is free.

The official opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, with the attendance of local authorities.

Organized by the Bioest Association – Gruppo Ecologista Naturista of Trieste, in collaboration with the Municipality of Trieste, the fair also serves as a gathering point for environmental, cultural, and volunteer associations from across the region.

“Bioest is a warm and welcoming celebration designed to bring the whole community together, from children to adults,” said Tiziana Cimolino, a representative of the organizing association. “It’s a beautiful way to welcome summer and to promote the idea of living together in harmony with nature, through sustainable and organic practices.”

This year’s edition will once again include workshops, performances, and interactive activities led by more than 40 local associations. A large green space will be set aside for children’s games and hands-on activities, encouraging engagement with nature and sustainable practices.

“Special thanks go to the City of Trieste, which has co-organized this year’s event,” Cimolino added. “Bioest is like an agora—a public square—where people can come together, share ideas, and explore new ways of living sustainably.”

San Giovanni Park has long served as the fair’s traditional venue, and this year’s edition continues the market-style layout that combines commerce with community interaction.

Bioest has become a fixture of early summer in Trieste, offering an open-air space for education, celebration, and collective reflection on environmental and social responsibility.
