Interview: Maurizio Marzi, president of Trieste Trasporti
The seasonal maritime transport service Miramar is set to resume operations on Sunday, June 1, offering connections between central Trieste and the coastal areas of Porto Vivo–Porto Vecchio, Barcola, the Topolini bathing platforms, and Grignano.
The service will run through September 14, 2025, with five daily departures from both Trieste and Grignano. Stops include Porto Vivo, Barcola, and the Topolini area. Embarkation points are located at Riva Nazario Sauro (Molo Bersaglieri), Bacino Zero in Porto Vivo–Porto Vecchio, the inner side of the Barcola breakwater, the Topolini platforms (Cedas), and the central pier in Grignano.
Following a positive reception last summer, Miramar returns with a new subscription offer aimed specifically at residents of Trieste. Locals will have the option to purchase a 10-ride pass for routes to and from Barcola and Topolini at a reduced rate of €10.
Tickets will be available for purchase exclusively on board. To buy the resident subscription, passengers must present a valid form of identification at the time of purchase.
The service is intended to offer a convenient and scenic transport alternative for both residents and visitors along the Gulf of Trieste, particularly during the busy summer season.
