The 27th edition of Pordenonelegge has opened in Pordenone, celebrating books, ideas and freedom of expression through a program that brings together writers, thinkers and the local community. The festival is designed as a space for dialogue and the exchange of diverse perspectives, reinforcing its reputation as one of Italy’s leading literary events.
The festival will conclude on Sept. 20 with the Concert for Italy at Teatro Verdi, attended by President Sergio Mattarella, as Pordenone continues its preparations to become Italian Capital of Culture 2027.
The evening will feature the internationally acclaimed Italian trio Il Volo, whose performances have helped bring the tradition of Italian bel canto to audiences worldwide. The concert will also be broadcast live on giant screens in four public squares, allowing thousands of spectators to participate across the city.
At the presentation of the event, Sergio Emidio Bini, Friuli Venezia Giulia’s regional councilor for productive activities and tourism, said the concert is among the region’s flagship cultural initiatives leading up to 2027. He said the president’s presence gives the occasion exceptional institutional and symbolic significance while highlighting Pordenonelegge’s growing international profile.
