Firefighters in Trieste responded Tuesday evening to a vegetation fire that broke out in several spots near the Cottur cycling path in the Via dell’Acqua area.
The Trieste fire brigade began operations at about 8:15 p.m., deploying all available crews, including two teams from the central station and units from the Muggia and Opicina stations. Two water tankers were also sent to the scene.
Strong winds complicated the response, but firefighters managed to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further.
By Tuesday night, the fire was considered under control, and crews had begun clearing and monitoring the affected area to ensure that remaining hot spots did not reignite.
