Public ferry services operated by Delfino Verde Navigazione have been temporarily relocated from Riva Nazario Sauro to the waterfront stretch between the Scala Reale and the base of Molo Audace through July 24, regional officials announced Wednesday.
The temporary change was introduced to allow security measures during the visit of the United States ambassador to Trieste. Authorities, including the Trieste Police Headquarters and the Harbor Master’s Office, have temporarily restricted navigation and mooring in the San Marco Basin.
Regional Infrastructure Councillor Cristina Amirante said the adjustment is intended to ensure both the uninterrupted operation of local maritime transport and compliance with public safety measures established by the relevant authorities.
The provisional terminal is located along the waterfront facing Piazza Unità d’Italia, between the Scala Reale and the base of Molo Audace. Regular ferry operations are expected to resume at the usual Riva Nazario Sauro terminal on July 25.
