Friuli Venezia Giulia is drawing visitors from across Europe this summer, with Trieste serving as a popular stop for travelers exploring the region. In the city center, tourists from London and Belgium said they were en route to neighboring Slovenia but chose to spend time in Trieste to experience its waterfront, historic streets and lively atmosphere. Visitors from Austria and the Czech Republic were also among those enjoying the city, alongside Italian travelers exploring destinations closer to home.

An American visitor from Texas, who previously lived in Trieste, said he was impressed by how much the city had changed over the past decade, describing the transformation of the waterfront and urban landscape as remarkable. The steady flow of international and domestic tourists reflects Trieste’s growing appeal as a gateway to northeastern Italy and the surrounding cross-border region.
