In Trieste, a spring cultural initiative is drawing residents and visitors into the city’s civic museums through a series of guided tours, family activities and themed events centered on local history and art.
The program, called “Primavera nei Musei” (“Spring in the Museums”), is organized by the City of Trieste in collaboration with CoopCulture and runs from April through June. Activities are taking place across several of the city’s museums, with events designed to highlight Trieste’s artistic heritage, maritime history and historic collections.
Among the upcoming events is “Tête-à-tête,” a family-oriented interactive visit scheduled for Saturday, May 9, at 3 p.m. at the Museo Sartorio. The activity invites families to explore the rooms of the historic residence through quizzes, clues and interactive games intended to make the museum visit more participatory. Admission for the activity is €8 per participant.
On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m., the Museo del Mare will host a guided tour titled “Two Centuries of History Through Shipping Companies.” The visit focuses on the evolution of the Port of Trieste and the city’s long maritime tradition, tracing the development of shipping routes and navigation companies through ship models, paintings, photographs and historical artifacts. Admission is €7 per participant.
The broader “Primavera nei Musei” initiative reflects Trieste’s continuing investment in public cultural programming, using the city’s museum network to engage audiences of different ages and interests during the spring season.
