With a deadline approaching on April 16, applications remain open for the Trieste selection of FameLab, an international competition focused on science communication for early-career researchers. The local event is scheduled to take place on April 23 at Teatro Miela.

Prospective participants can submit their applications through an online form available on the Immaginario Scientifico website.

In advance of the competition, organizers are offering a free preparatory workshop designed to help candidates refine their presentations. The session will be held on April 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Polo Giovani Toti.

The workshop will feature Donato Ramani, a science communicator affiliated with SISSA, who will focus on techniques for building clear and engaging narratives grounded in solid scientific content. Actress Daniela Gattorno will lead a segment on stage presence, voice control, and body language.

The course is open to researchers who meet the eligibility requirements for FameLab. Those interested in attending are asked to register by contacting the organizers via email.

Now in its 15th edition in Trieste, the local FameLab competition is organized by Immaginario Scientifico in collaboration with the University of Trieste, the University of Udine, SISSA, and the Municipality of Trieste, as part of the Trieste City of Knowledge initiative.

Further details are available on the Immaginario Scientifico website.
