Strong bora winds swept through Trieste overnight, with gusts exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, prompting dozens of emergency calls across the province and keeping firefighters busy throughout the night.
Fire crews responded to numerous reports of weather-related incidents across the area as the powerful winds battered the city and the surrounding Gulf of Trieste.
The conditions have also prompted precautionary closures and transport disruptions. Public gardens in Trieste have been closed, while services operated by the Delfino Verde ferry have been suspended.
The bora is expected to continue affecting the Gulf of Trieste over the coming days, with further strong gusts forecast.
