Treasure hunts at San Giusto Castle and a dinosaur-themed workshop at the Natural History Museum are scheduled for Nov. 3.
Trieste’s civic museums will offer two activities for children on Nov. 3, combining history, science and creative play to mark the feast of the city’s patron saint.
Organized by the Municipality of Trieste in collaboration with CoopCulture, the program includes a treasure hunt at San Giusto Castle and DinoLab, a new activity at the Natural History Museum.
The treasure hunt, titled “Alla conquista del Castello,” will invite children to solve puzzles, complete challenges and search for a hidden treasure while learning about the history of the castle, one of Trieste’s most prominent landmarks. Sessions are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The activity lasts 90 minutes and is intended for children ages 6 to 10.
The new DinoLab program will focus on prehistoric animals. Children will take part in a guided visit to the Natural History Museum before joining a creative workshop in which they can design and decorate their own dinosaur.
The workshop is being organized in collaboration with Little Beetle, a local business specializing in ceramic modeling and painting. The activity is designed to introduce younger visitors to natural history through hands-on learning.
The treasure hunt costs €10 per child, while DinoLab costs €20 per child. Admission to both museums will be free for all visitors on the day, although advance booking is required for participation in either activity.
Reservations for the castle treasure hunt are available at CoopCulture’s booking page. Bookings for DinoLab can be made through the program’s booking page.
