Children will have the chance to step into the world of pirates and maritime adventure this July as the Museo del Mare hosts two interactive treasure hunts designed to combine learning with play.

The program, titled In Search of the Pirates’ Treasure, will take place on July 5 and July 19 at 4 p.m. at the museum inside Magazzino 26 in Porto Vecchio–Porto Vivo.

Created for children ages 6 to 11, the 90-minute activity transforms the museum into the setting for a pirate-themed adventure. Participants will solve puzzles involving historic ships, navigation instruments and legendary sea creatures as they search for a hidden treasure.

The experience combines a guided visit through the museum’s collections with a collaborative treasure hunt, encouraging children to explore maritime history while developing curiosity, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Children younger than 6 may also participate if accompanied by an adult.

The activity costs €8 per child. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through CoopCulture by phone at 040 9892032 or by email at museicivici.trieste@coopculture.it.

The initiative is organized in collaboration with CoopCulture as part of the museum’s summer programming for families.
