After a week of relentless rain, Friuli Venezia Giulia finally saw a break in the clouds on Sunday, and residents wasted no time reclaiming the outdoors. From Trieste’s waterfront cafés to the beaches of Grado and the mountain trails of the Carnic Alps, people poured into the sunshine, eager to savor a long-awaited taste of summer. Families strolled along the sea, cyclists filled the promenades, and crowded piazzas buzzed with conversation late into the evening. The sudden return of blue skies brought more than good weather — it offered a collective sense of relief in a region that had spent days under gray, stormy skies.
