From Trieste to Cannes: Friuli Venezia Giulia Shines on Cinema’s Biggest Stage

From the red carpet to the jury room, Friuli Venezia Giulia is shining at the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Trieste-born director Laura Samani is serving on the Un Certain Regard jury, while representatives from the region’s leading film festivals are bringing a strong FVG presence to Cannes. We interviewed Alan Jones, artistic director of the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, who told us it is the oldest science fiction festival in the world and deserves greater international recognition — adding that he promotes Trieste whenever and wherever he can.
