The Regional Environmental Protection Agency of Friuli Venezia Giulia (ARPA FVG) has presented the first numbered issue of Terra rara, its quarterly online publication.
Terra rara is designed to communicate environmental data and scientific monitoring to the general public, translating technical information into accessible content for citizens, institutions, and communities across Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The spring issue covers several environmental themes, including seasonal climate variation based on meteorological data, the condition of rivers and lakes, atmospheric pollen monitoring, greenhouse gas emissions, and ARPA FVG’s operational responses to environmental emergencies. The publication also features content from the Agency’s environmental education school, which includes 12 webinars starting on April 28, aimed at increasing environmental literacy and awareness among the public and local authorities.
Anna Lutman, Director General of ARPA FVG, stated that the publication reflects the Agency’s commitment to making its data heritage publicly available in a clear and useful format, reinforcing dialogue between the institution and the territory.
Fabio Scoccimarro, Regional Councillor for Environment, Energy and Sustainable Development, attended the presentation and emphasized that initiatives such as Terra rara serve as tools to bring citizens closer to environmental issues while supporting informed decision-making and effective policy.
The publication integrates technical and scientific content with multimedia materials, prioritizing both accessibility and reliability. Graphics have been designed to be clear and intuitive for non-specialist audiences. Issue 1 of Terra rara is available through ARPA FVG’s official channels.
