The annual Carnevale di Muggia is entering its most anticipated phase, with the 72nd edition set to feature its signature parade on Sunday, February 15. Beginning at 1 p.m., the procession will showcase elaborately decorated floats and thousands of participants in costume.

The parade will include the following themed groups, in order of appearance: Bellezze Naturali with “Tu mi fai girar”; Brivido with “Che aria che tira, ara”; Trottola with “Gelatttoo!!!”; Bulli e Pupe with “Pasta Dove c’è Bulli e Pupe c’è Casa”; La Bora with “50 sfumature di viola”; Ongia with “Femo… Ape!”; Mandrioi with “Il tempo delle mele”; and Lampo with “La compagnia Lampo decolla in un lampo!”

Admission to the parade is free, though seating in the grandstands will require a ticket. Tickets are available online through Ticket Point or at the entrance to Sala Millo in Piazza della Repubblica on the day of the event, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Security measures will require non-residents to present a QR code to access the historic center. Tomorrow, February 15, this requirement begins at 8 p.m., while today it applies from 6 p.m. Further details are available at pass.visitmuggia.eu.

The carnival program for Saturday, February 14, includes:

  • 4–6 p.m.: Ballo delle Bambole, a children’s entertainment event with games, dancing, and music at the G. Pacco Municipal Gymnasium. Admission is free.
  • From 6 p.m.: An itinerant band performance by the Filarmonica di S. Barbara in Piazza Marconi and the historic center.
  • From 7 p.m.: Musical aperitif in Piazza Marconi, featuring hits from the 1970s to 2000s.
  • From 7 p.m.: Platinum Stage, the carnival’s youth music space in Piazza della Repubblica, featuring reggaeton, trap, and early 2000s music.

The 72nd Carnevale di Muggia continues a long-standing tradition of community celebration, drawing both locals and visitors to the northeastern Italian town for days of music, performance, and pageantry.
