Trieste will hold its annual Bavisela di Carnevale on Sunday, February 8, bringing together residents for a festive run through the city center. The roughly four-kilometer route, starting at Piazza Unità d’Italia at 10 a.m., is open to participants of all ages and abilities.

Organized by local athletic associations APD Miramar and Trieste Atletica with support from the city and regional authorities, the event combines sport, community, and Carnival celebrations. Each registration contributes one euro to the Burlo Garofolo Foundation, which supports maternal and child health research.

The day will feature live music, costumes, and a Carnival-themed atmosphere, culminating in the symbolic presentation of the Carnival keys by the city’s Councillor for Culture. Registration is available in advance at Galleria Commerciale Il Giulia and on the morning of the event, with gifts for the first 500 participants.

The Bavisela di Carnevale serves as a prelude to the 30th edition of the Bavisela – Trieste Spring Run, scheduled for May 2026.
