On Sunday, November 23, downtown Trieste was bustling—a sharp contrast to the day before, when fierce bora winds had emptied the streets. With the sun finally out, albeit in crisp winter air, locals reclaimed the waterfront promenades and lively cafés, filling the city with weekend energy. Families strolled along the Molo Audace, shoppers threaded through the historic center, and the usual mix of foreign visitors added a cosmopolitan hum. As ever, Trieste served as both a regional capital and a gateway, drawing travelers eager to explore the wider charms of Friuli Venezia Giulia under a bright, wind-washed sky.
