Trieste-based artisanal coffee roaster Bazzara Caffè has once again taken top honors at the Luxury Food & Beverage Quality Awards, winning “Best Selection Coffee” for the third consecutive year. The recognition was given to Rarity – Luxury Origin, a new line of single-origin coffees launched earlier this year.

The jury, composed of 18 of Italy’s most celebrated chefs—including Gennaro Esposito, Alessandro Pipero, Enrico Cerea, Giancarlo Morelli, and Andrea Cannalire—announced the award during a ceremony held at HostMilano, the international trade fair dedicated to the hospitality and food service industry.

A Celebration of Rarity and Craftsmanship

The Rarity – Luxury Origin line includes three exceptional 100% Arabica coffees: Nepal Himalaya, Jamaica Blue Mountain, and Panama Geisha. These single-origin beans expand Bazzara’s high-end portfolio, following the success of its award-winning Dodicigrancru and Panarabica luxury blends, which received similar honors in 2023 and 2024.

Each variety in the Rarity line is sourced from distinctive high-altitude regions—between 1,000 and 2,300 meters—where unique microclimates foster complex aromas. The beans are hand-picked and roasted using Bazzara’s signature slow, artisanal method to preserve each origin’s sensory profile.

  • Jamaica Blue Mountain, a coffee icon known for its transport in oak barrels similar to rum, offers refined notes of coriander, papaya, and vanilla.
  • Panama Geisha, often dubbed “liquid gold,” features an exotic, floral bouquet with hints of mango, lychee, and jasmine.
  • Nepal Himalaya, an exceptionally rare origin representing just 0.01% of the global market, grows on the slopes of the Himalayas and delivers aromatic notes of yuzu, rhododendron, and cardamom.

Recognition from Italy’s Culinary Elite

The award was presented by Angelo Frigerio, director of Tespi Mediagroup; journalist Tommaso Farina; and Alessandro Gilmozzi, president of the Ambasciatori del Gusto association and head of the jury. Accepting the prize were Marco Bazzara, Quality Manager and Academy Director of Bazzara, and Cristina Gallo, the company’s Brand Manager.

“Seeing a newly launched product recognized at such a prestigious level is always deeply rewarding,” said Gallo. “It reflects the effort of our entire team—from the selection of raw materials to marketing and communication.”

Bazzara added that the company’s commitment to excellence drives every step of its process. “We work with top suppliers to source these rare beans, which isn’t always easy,” he said. “For us, quality is a non-negotiable foundation. This line, in particular, allows coffee enthusiasts to embark on a sensory journey through the diverse aromatic profiles of each origin.”

A Continuing Legacy of Excellence

Now in its fourth edition, the Luxury Food & Beverage Quality Awards honor the finest gourmet products in Italy. Winners are selected by a panel of top chefs and industry experts who evaluate products across multiple categories.

Bazzara’s consistent recognition underscores its role as one of Italy’s leading names in specialty coffee. The Rarity line, available through the company’s e-commerce site, has drawn attention not only from professional chefs but also from coffee connoisseurs and enthusiasts seeking distinctive, high-quality flavors.
