The southern Italian rapper Luchè will headline this year’s Generation Young Festival, a two-day summer event that has become one of Monfalcone’s cultural highlights. The festival, now in its third edition, is scheduled for August 23–24, with organizers expecting at least 5,000 attendees.

The centerpiece will be Luchè’s concert on Sunday, Aug. 24, in Piazza della Repubblica, part of the artist’s national summer tour. Access to the square will open at 8 p.m., with the performance beginning at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are available through TicketOne and Azalea Promotion.

The festival opens Saturday with the Generation Young Village, a space dedicated to emerging talent, performances, and youth associations. Events will begin at 6 p.m. with an illusionist show, followed by comedy, music, and dance acts. The evening will conclude with DJ sets, including a performance by DJ Matrix with special guest Matt Joe.

Sunday’s programming will feature a more informal lineup, with young local artists and rappers performing throughout the day. Among those scheduled are Sedici, Said Klau, DR3YN, Giò, Chico, and the Fogoler crew. Salvatore Taglialatela, winner of the 2024 Monfalcone Talent Show, will open Luchè’s concert.

City officials say the festival has grown into a regional event, supported financially by the municipality, the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, and the Fondazione Carigo. This year’s budget totals €140,000, with about €50,000 provided by the city.

“We continue to invest in initiatives aimed at young generations,” said Riccardo Brigante, city councilor for youth policies. Regional officials echoed that sentiment, describing the festival as an event “made by young people, for young people.”
