The Municipality of Trieste has issued a temporary traffic ordinance in anticipation of the Tramonti a Nord Est Festival, scheduled to take place next week along the city’s waterfront and in Piazza Unità d’Italia.

The measures, outlined in Ordinance No. 619-25 dated Friday, June 20, 2025, will affect key areas in the city center, including the Rive and the main square, and are aimed at ensuring public safety and smooth event operations.

The festival will feature a major public concert aboard the Palinuro, a tall ship of the Italian Navy, moored in front of the Scala Reale at Riva del Mandracchio on Friday, June 27. Additionally, Piazza Unità will host the “Villaggio delle Eccellenze,” a cultural and promotional village showcasing regional talent and products.

The city’s Department of Education, Tourism, Culture, and Sports is co-organizing the event alongside Friends & Partners SpA, a private event management company.

To accommodate the event, the following traffic measures have been put in place:

  1. From 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23 until midnight on Monday, June 30, all bicycles and electric micromobility devices will be prohibited from using the section of the bike lane on the Rive between Via di Mercato Vecchio and the base of Molo Audace, approximately 100 meters in length.
  2. On Friday, June 27, a 24-hour parking and stopping ban—with enforced towing—will be in effect for all vehicles in designated areas where such restrictions are not already in place.

City officials advise residents and visitors to plan accordingly and follow signage and instructions from law enforcement personnel. The measures are part of broader logistical efforts to facilitate a safe and enjoyable experience for festival-goers while minimizing disruption to daily traffic flows.
