Following successful editions in Milan and Turin, Eataly’s Mercato Solidale (Solidarity Market) arrives in Trieste this weekend, offering visitors the chance to engage directly with a variety of social enterprises working across Italy. The event will be held on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, at Eataly’s Trieste location.
The initiative, now in its third iteration, aims to create a platform for organizations in the third sector that promote social inclusion and personal development, particularly for vulnerable communities. Participating groups will offer their products for sale and share their stories with the public, fostering dialogue and awareness around their missions.
The Trieste edition will feature several organizations from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and beyond, including AUTstanding – La Melagrana, Bottega del Mondo Senza Confini Brez Meja, Hattivalab, Luna Blu, Terra&Natura (in partnership with DUEMILAUNO AGENZIA SOCIALE), as well as groups supported by I Bambini delle Fate, Viviana Cooperativa Sociale, and Querciambiente.
“The Mercato Solidale format allows us to engage with the third sector in a meaningful way, offering visibility and helping to raise awareness about the important work these organizations do,” said Andrea Cipolloni, CEO of Eataly Group. “Bringing the market to Trieste, one of our most beloved locations, is a way to celebrate both social commitment and local excellence.”
Eataly provides the retail space free of charge. All proceeds from product sales go directly to the participating organizations, and the stalls are staffed entirely by volunteers from each nonprofit.
The event underscores Eataly’s ongoing effort to integrate social impact into its commercial spaces, using its platform to elevate voices and initiatives working toward a more inclusive society.
