Businesses in the northeastern Friuli Venezia Giulia region are joining forces with local employment services to address workforce challenges in the tourism and hospitality sector. A Recruiting Day event, scheduled for February 19, aims to fill 240 positions in the industry, focusing on opportunities in the Giulian area, which includes Trieste and its surroundings.
“Businesses that place their trust in our public services, particularly in employment centers and the proactive support we offer through our job services, represent an important signal of growth and collaboration,” said Alessia Rosolen, the Regional Councillor for Employment, during a presentation in Trieste on Wednesday.
The initiative is part of the regional government’s efforts to address systemic issues like seasonality, a perennial challenge for the sector. “Our commitment is also directed at supporting businesses in overcoming the challenge of seasonality,” Rosolen said. “To this end, we are working on specific training programs, as the sector is undergoing significant changes in its territorial development context.”
With nine local companies participating, the Recruiting Day represents a rare alignment of public and private interests, underscoring a collective aim to boost stability in the labor market. Rosolen highlighted the importance of “loyalty-building initiatives” that foster job security, a critical factor for the long-term development of the region.
The tourism and hospitality industry is a cornerstone of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s economy, and events like these aim to prepare the sector for continued growth.
Interested candidates have until February 10 to submit their résumés through an online portal set up by the regional government. For details, visit https://bit.ly/RAFVG2025TurAlb_TS.
