In a significant show of force, local authorities carried out an extensive high-impact territorial control operation across several key areas of the city on the evening of August 10th. The operation, aimed at addressing urban decay and preventing illegal activities, involved the identification of approximately 200 individuals, including 75 foreign nationals, and the inspection of 26 public establishments.

The crackdown was strategically designed to address conditions of urban blight and to curb behaviors such as drug use, alcohol abuse, and vandalism. Officials emphasized the need for such measures to maintain public safety and order in areas experiencing significant deterioration.

The operation saw the collaboration of multiple law enforcement agencies. Personnel from the State Police, augmented by units from the State Police Crime Prevention Department in Padova, the Carabinieri, the Financial Police, and the Local Police, were deployed to various hotspots across the city.

Key areas targeted in the operation included Piazza Goldoni, Piazza del Perugino, Piazza Garibaldi, Largo Barriera, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Libertà, Viale XX Settembre, and the Barcola waterfront. The comprehensive nature of the operation underscores a determined effort by city officials to address and mitigate the impact of urban decay on community safety and quality of life.
