The Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste will present the ninth edition of Note d’Estate in Città, a series of free outdoor concerts that will bring live classical music to neighborhoods across Trieste from July 4 to July 19.

The traveling program, performed by the theater’s brass ensemble, includes 12 concerts in parks, squares and public gardens throughout the city, including stops in Piazza Hortis, Barcola, Opicina, Prosecco and Villa Revoltella. Each performance will last about 45 minutes and is open to the public.

The repertoire will feature selections from opera and operetta by composers including Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner, Giacomo Puccini, Franz Lehár and Ralph Benatzky. The concerts will conclude with music from Italian cinema by Nicola Piovani and Ennio Morricone, including La banda del pinzimonio, a piece long associated with performances by Roberto Benigni.

City officials and theater representatives said the initiative is intended to bring the orchestra beyond the concert hall and make live performances accessible to a broader audience while introducing residents to the theater’s upcoming season. Before each concert, musicians will offer a brief introduction to the program to provide historical and musical context.

The ensemble features trumpeters Massimiliano Morosini and Massimiliano Oldrati, horn player Simone Berteni, trombonist Luca Erra and euphonium player Domenico Lazzaroni.
