The Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government has extended until July 31, 2026, the deadline for businesses to apply for financial compensation for damage caused by severe weather events in November 2025.

The extension, approved through a decree signed by regional Civil Protection Councilor Riccardo Riccardi in coordination with Agriculture Councilor Stefano Zannier and Productive Activities Councilor Sergio Emidio Bini, aims to increase participation in the relief program for affected businesses.

The aid package covers companies operating in the agriculture, fisheries and service sectors across 36 municipalities in the region. Eligible expenses include repairs to outdoor areas, buildings and machinery, as well as compensation for business interruptions.

The region will reimburse up to 50 percent of eligible costs, with a maximum contribution of €1 million per beneficiary.

Applications seeking more than €40,000 must include a certified technical assessment, while advance payments of €20,000 or more require a financial guarantee.

Regional officials said applications submitted by the new July deadline will also serve as a preliminary registry for future national disaster relief programs, allowing eligible businesses to access any forthcoming state compensation without filing a new application.
