Regional governor Massimiliano Fedriga met with representatives of the regional chapter of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Executives (Aidda FVG) on Monday, emphasizing the importance of ongoing dialogue between public institutions and the business community.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government in Trieste, brought together members of Aidda FVG, led by its president, Irene Revelant. Discussions focused on the competitiveness of the region’s economy, workforce development, innovation, and the role of female entrepreneurship in economic and social growth.

Fedriga described collaboration with business organizations as essential to supporting the region’s economic development. He noted that Friuli Venezia Giulia’s annual budget has grown from approximately €4 billion in 2018 to €6.5 billion today, attributing the expansion to broader economic growth and investment.

Among the issues discussed was energy policy. Fedriga said that maintaining competitive energy costs for businesses would require a pragmatic approach, including consideration of next-generation nuclear technologies as part of the region’s long-term strategy for energy security and independence.

The regional president also stressed the importance of technical expertise in appointments to publicly owned entities and highlighted the role of Friulia, the region’s financial holding company, in supporting business growth and innovation. He described the institution as a strategic tool not only for assisting companies during periods of difficulty but also for helping them expand and compete in international markets.

Founded in 1981, Aidda FVG represents more than 70 entrepreneurs, executives, and business leaders from companies across Friuli Venezia Giulia. The organization promotes female entrepreneurship, managerial development, and greater representation of women in leadership positions throughout the region’s economy.
