As the summer season gathers momentum, the Adriatic resort town of Grado is offering a packed calendar of events that blends food, art, music, literature and family-friendly activities. The program, designed for both residents and visitors, reflects the town’s longstanding role as one of the most active summer destinations in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
Among the highlights is Blu di Grado – Cena in Diga, scheduled for June 13 along the Lungomare Nazario Sauro waterfront. Beginning in the evening, the event will transform the town’s sea promenade into an open-air dining venue, with local cuisine, live music and performances overlooking the Adriatic.
Earlier that day, participants can join Experience Blu, a sunset wellness walk inspired by the colors and atmosphere of the sea. The guided activity, starting at the main entrance of Grado’s beachfront, combines movement and relaxation against the backdrop of the lagoon landscape.
Art also takes center stage this month. At the San Rocco Auditorium, visitors can view La Sinfonia dell’Invisibile, a solo exhibition by artist Dario Scotti running through June 14. The show explores themes of perception and emotion through vivid colors and abstract forms.
A second exhibition, Grado e altri orizzonti, remains on display through June 28 at the former Cinema Cristallo. The exhibition brings together paintings and ceramics by Manuela de Pregi alongside a photographic selection dedicated to Grado and its lagoon, examining the relationship between landscape, memory and local identity.
Music performances are scheduled at the Basilica of Sant’Eufemia, one of the town’s most important historic landmarks. On June 11, the Tergeste Vocal Ensemble and the Corale “Città di Grado” will present a concert of sacred music. A second performance, Terra Tremuit, is planned for June 16 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Friuli earthquake, with the Claudio Monteverdi Polyphonic Group of Ruda leading a commemorative program.
Literary events are also part of the summer lineup. On June 13, the Grand Hotel Astoria will host a new edition of Book Experience, where authors Elena Bezzutti and Ranieri Toso will discuss their thriller novels with readers. The event offers an opportunity to engage directly with writers and explore contemporary literary production from the region.
Families and children will find a range of activities throughout the season. Daily programs at the GIT beach’s Mini Club include games, creative workshops and dance activities, while Bora Bora Beach hosts Sunday events geared toward younger visitors. Beginning June 16, the Costa del Sol beach area in Grado Pineta will offer free workshops, animated readings and hands-on activities such as mosaic-making and weaving.
The town’s seaside music scene continues with a series of sunset events. Every Sunday, the Tivoli beach establishment hosts live performances as part of its TIVOLive program, while the Isola d’Oro area at GIT Beach offers afternoon and evening entertainment, including DJ sets and social gatherings by the sea.
With a schedule that ranges from cultural programming and live performances to wellness initiatives and family activities, Grado enters the height of the summer season with an array of experiences that appeal to visitors of all ages.
