About 120 high school students from Trieste and Monfalcone gathered this week at the University of Trieste for an open day focused on careers in healthcare, offering teenagers a firsthand look at the demands and possibilities of the medical professions.

Organized by the Department of Medical, Surgical and Health Sciences, the initiative welcomed fourth- and fifth-year students considering future studies in medicine and allied health fields.

Part of the program took place at the Medical Simulation and Advanced Training Center at Cattinara Hospital, home to one of Europe’s first advanced humanoid medical simulators. Equipped with artificial intelligence, the robot can reproduce realistic facial expressions and physiological reactions, allowing students and healthcare professionals to train in lifelike clinical scenarios.
